We're gone. But before I get to all the new stuff going on I have to finish up some stuff from home.
After we went to the ranch, Dave headed back to work and to take Max to basketball camp:

...while the girls and I headed up to another friend's cabin. It was just two other moms and their kids up there and we had such a good time.

Elle tried to carry on the pranks that were started up at the ranch, but she and her friend ended up getting the brunt of it when the little kids took over and got them back...bad.
Poor McKenna's a pretty heavy sleeper so boy howdy did they ever get her:
Man, do we just need to give up and give in and get a dog??
Lots of card games:

The kids had so much fun at the rec. center, and we all got completely fried at the pool.
Thanks SO much Diana!
On the way home had a leisurely time (while caravan-ing with one kid in the other car throwing up...about the middle of the throw-up cases that ended up affecting us the tough way after this trip...click here for more on that if you like to hear about throw-up...a delightful topic).
Not to discount Dave's excellent driving abilities and willingness to drive us all over creation, but it was kind of fun to drive by myself with the kids for two reasons:
1) Lu's antics didn't phase us, and
2) we got to stop for scenery shots like I ALWAYS want to on road trips but Dave will NEVER do it. I'm not saying the kids were much better than Dave at loving scenery stops...except for my sweet Grace who is my poser.
That's why she's my favorite kid right now.
(I'm kidding about the favorite kid thing...just in case you're wondering...but I do like picture posers...)
So we got home, unpacked, did loads of laundry, started our own throw-up episodes, did more laundry, got over it all, and packed up again to head up to Dave's sister's cabin. Man are we lucky or what?
This time it was with 24 kids...two of Dave's sisters and their families and two of Dave's cousins and theirs.
It was Father's Day up there and the dads got in some good golf time.
(That tie says #1 Dad in squishy fabric paint...I can't wait for Dave to wear it to church.)

One hunk of a...I mean, heck of a Dad. (More on Father's Day later...)
The kids learned all kinds of new card games when they weren't outside soaking in the gorgeous weather.
And the parents played all kinds of games into the wee hours of the morning.
Lucy pulled and all-nighter one of the nights too. That was fun for some quality time with me and her in a house chock-full of sleeping family. Man what's up with all this sarcasm???

Boy oh boy these cousins get along SO great.
An art show.
My poser.
The traditional "candy bar game"
Serious joy on swings.
The parents.
Thank you so much guys!Labels: vacation
