prayers for Lucy

Dear "I Love Lucy" club members,

Please send prayers her way today.

She's finally having her evaluation this afternoon for an amazing preschool (we've been anticipating it since the spring). It's actually at the elementary school my other kids go to, and it mixes special needs students with mainstream ones, and has therapists right there on hand to work with the kids in the classroom. She is still so young, but all her therapists think this would be such a great fit for her.

Although I'd be so sad to send my baby to "school," I just really feel like she needs it. She needs the peer interaction and peer modeling. She needs the structure. She needs the therapy they would provide. I just feel like she would bloom and grow and thrive there.

And I need it too. Sometimes it's so lonely being the only one who knows what's going on with Lu, and what her needs are. I get so overwhelmed and worried. My heart aches on a daily basis. Of course, Dave is there through and through, but how amazing would it be to have some other teachers right on board with me to understand and be aware of her needs and progress? It would help so much.

Don't get me wrong, Lucy is doing SO well. She has grown and learned by leaps and bounds this summer. She's stringing together sentences and running and soaking in life like a little sponge.

But as her Mother I ache for her to have any advantage or stepping stones I can hand over.

So please send any available praying power our way!

Thanks with all my heart.

Love, Shawni
