make change

A lady contacted me a while back about her plans to take her daughter with her to work at Rising Star (an amazing organization we visited in India last summer…more about that back here).

Together, this mother and her daughter have figured out a way to raise money for the school and other needs there and I have to share because I think it’s so cool. They wanted not to only raise money, but to get a message out there with lasting impact. “We came up with the motto ‘make change’ and designed a bracelet with those words on it, along with a miniature penny which signifies that small amounts of ‘change’, be it monetary or otherwise, can add up to make a major difference.”

Wearing these awesome bracelets remind you to “make change” in your own way, and all the funds go toward Rising star.  Here’s the link to see the bracelets:  http://makechangetoday.org/

Of course, I had to snatch some up for us:

Here’s the video Faith (the daughter) and her mom made that made me tear up.

There are so many ways to “make change” in this world of ours.  Sometimes just something as small as a smile or a wave to someone who needs a little encouragement can make so much more of a difference than we can imagine.

Thanks, Faith, for your example of making your own kind of change!

Go buy bracelets here:  http://makechangetoday.org/ and make some change of your own :)
